Representing and dealing in modern established artists since 1987, Galerie Alex Daniels - Reflex Amsterdam opened a new space in 2003 to focus on young and established contemporary artists, and to put an accent on present-day photography and painting showing their different facets and kinds. The galleries are situated opposite each other in the centre of Amsterdam opposite the Rijksmuseum. In January 2010 a third space will be opened expanding our capacity to present young talents, established and contemporary artists.
Annually Galerie Alex Daniels organises 4 - 6 solo exhibitions and 3 - 4 group shows. We regularly initiate unparalleled projects and co-productions with artists like Yasumasa Morimura or David LaChapelle. Many artists like Daido Moriyama, Nobuyoshi Araki, and the young artist Mahomi Kunikata from Takashi Murakami's Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd. were given a steppingstone to the Dutch art scene with their first show at our gallery.
Besides it is a tradition of the gallery to produce limited editions and books in close collaboration with the artists.
Galerie Alex Daniels is participating at several local and international art fairs like the Armory Photography Show, Arco Madrid, Artissima Torino, Art Amsterdam, Art Rotterdam, EAB New York.
