ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN | BEIJING was founded 1997 in Berlin - Mitte with a special focus on Asian, mostly Chinese Contemporary art. Since 2008 the gallery represents international European artists in exhibitions and external projects. The gallery is the exclusive representative in Europe for important artists like Miao Xiaochun, Yang Shaobin and Yin Xiuzhen from China and recently included Micha Ullman, Miriam Vlaming, Radek Szlaga, Fides Becker and Andreas Amrhein in the gallery's program.
After having held galleries in Shanghai (2002/2003) as well as being one of the pioneers of 798 Beijing (2004-2008), Ochs opened a new space in May 2009, which he shares with Tian Yuan / WHITE SPACE, in the new Caochangdi Art District. For the inaugural exhibition, in the 1000 m2 large exhibition space, works by Fang Lijun, Yang Shaobin and Liu Xiaodong were on view in correspondence with works by Damian Hirst and Anish Kapoor.
As something quite new Ochs started an artist-in-residence programme in one of the Studio Houses designed by Ai Weiwei in Caochangdi. The studio is available for the European artists in connection with their solo exhibitions at ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BEIJING.
ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN I BEIJING is also initiating solo exhibitions in museums and institutions for its artists, such as: Xu Bing in the Museum for Asian Art, Berlin (2004), Fang Lijun in the Kupferstichkabinett der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin (2006), Yang Shaobin in the MASP Museu de Arte Sao Paulo (2009). Alexander Ochs has curated several exhibitions and projects for art institutions and museums, amongst those the inaugural exhibition "Arrogance & Romance" at the ORDOS ART MUSEUM (Mongolia, China, 2007) and the Fang Lijun show in the Today Art Museum, Beijing (2006) as well as Li Luming at Hunan Museum, Changsha (2007).
Since 1999 the gallery participates in various art fairs worldwide such as, abc art berlin contemporary 2008', art forum berlin, ART COLOGNE, ARCO Madrid, SCOPE Basel and in Asia at KIAF Seoul, shContemporary Shanghai and ART HK Hongkong International art fair.

ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN | BEIJING wurde 1997 in Berlin-Mitte zunächst mit einem ausschließlichen Schwerpunkt auf der asiatischen, vorwiegend der chinesischen Gegenwartskunst gegründet. Seit 2008 vertritt die Galerie auch internationale Künstler aus Europa in Ausstellungen und externen Projekten.
Nach wie vor werden mit Miao Xiaochun, Yang Shaobin und Yin Xiuzhen wichtige chinesische Künstler in Europa exklusiv vertreten, erweitert wurde der Kreis u.a. um Micha Ullman, Miriam Vlaming, Radek Szlaga, Fides Becker und Andreas Amrhein.
Nach Engagements in Shanghai (2002/2003) und als Pionier in 798 Beijing (2004-2008) eröffnete Ochs im Mai 2009 eine neue Dependance, die er unter einem Dach mit Tian Yuan / WHITE SPACE im neuen Caochangdi Art District betreibt. In dem 1000 m2 bietenden Gebäude wurden zur Eröffnung Arbeiten von Fang Lijun, Yang Shaobin sowie Liu Xiaodong in Korrespondenz mit Werken von Damien Hirst und Anish Kapoor gezeigt.
Neu ist ein artist-in-residence Programm in einem von Ai Weiwei entworfenem Studio-Haus in Caochangdi, das den europäischen Künstlern im Zusammenhang mit deren Solo-Ausstellungen in Beijing zur Verfügung gestellt wird.
Den Start von "ART FROM EUROPE" machte Radek Szlaga aus Polen 2009/2010.
ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN I BEIJING initiiert für ihre Künstler Soloausstellungen in Museen, Xu Bing im Museum für Asiatische Kunst Berlin (2004), Fang Lijun im Kupferstichkabinett der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin (2006), Yang Shaobin im MASP Museu de Arte Sao Paulo (2009).
