"Imaginum Pictura" - Gilles DELMAS (*1966, France)

"I think about the person leaning out of a window" (Gérard de Nerval)

In the series "Imaginum Pictura", Gilles Delmas pursues the subject of the observer and the observed.

The photographs of Gilles Delmas which hint at hidden tales, are executed in intensive colours, suffused with light and energy. At times they succeed in being blurred and confused while at others they appear to be obviously clear, only to leave you disoriented anew.

His interpretations are tales in which the documentation disintegrates and is transformed into narrative fiction. Important is the movement of the model in front of the camera and at the same time the movement of the observer. In the end, Delmas' artistic tales are characterized by the haziness of his images.

As a photographer, stage designer, and video artist, Delmas is deliberately engaged in the focused view and the unavoidable decision for a particular cutout. - Windows, which do not reveal, if the view is from the inside looking out or from the outside looking in.

"Imaginum Pictura" - Gilles DELMAS (*1966, Frankreich)

"I think about the person leaning out of a window" (Gérard de Nerval)
