Die Welt ist so, wie man sie sieht – Das Geheimnis der Photographie ist der Titel der diesjährigen Ausstellung der Internationalen Tage Ingelheim, die sich dem Bild des Menschen in der Photographie des 20. Jahrhunderts widmet. Gezeigt werden rund 170 Werke von 65 internationalen Photographen, darunter so bekannte Namen wie Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Hugo Erfurth, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Laszló Moholy-Nagy, Arnold Newman, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Man Ray, August Sander, Cindy Sherman, Wolfgang Tillmans und Edward Weston. Die Auswahl bzw. Präsentation konzentriert sich auf drei Themenbereiche: Die Bildnis-Photographie, die Akt-Photographie und die Schnappschuss-Photographie. Leihgeber sind Privatsammlungen, Galerien und Institutionen aus Europa und den USA. Veranstalter ist Boehringer Ingelheim / Internationale Tage in Zusammenarbeit mit KICKEN BERLIN. Die seit 45 Jahren bestehenden Internationalen Tage wurden 1959 von den Inhabern des pharmazeutischen Unternehmens gegründet. ____ The world is how you see it – The secret of Photography is the title of an exhibition devoted to the human image in photography through the 20th century. The exhibition consists of approximately 170 works (vintage prints) by 65 well-known international photographers such as Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Hugo Erfurth, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Laszló Moholy-Nagy, Arnold Newman, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Man Ray, August Sander, Cindy Sherman, Wolfgang Tillmans, Edward Weston. The presentation concentrates on three chapters: the portrait, the nude and street photography. Lenders include private collections, institutions and galleries in Europe and the USA. The exhibition is being organized by the Internationale Tage, a private cultural institution set up in 1959 by the owner families of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. The curator is Patricia Rochard, head of the Internationale Tage, in collaboration with Annette and Rudolf Kicken, Berlin.
