SEEN BY #7: MOLES

Exhibition: 25 November 2016 – 8 January 2017
Opening: Thursday, 24 November, 7pm

“Moles” is the seventh issue of the ongoing exhibition series "Seen By", a collaboration between the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Staatliche Museen's Kunstbibliothek at the Museum für Fotografie, introduced to challenge curatorial and artistic strategies for working with photography in contemporary art.

“infection is necessary to complexity, a friend once said. the habitat for this experiment may well be hostile.
Heyy i re-wrote a bit in a new version, what do you guys think?

it's great ! thanks!! the term "Kinship" though, is it connotated with "blood family"? i only know it from a donna haraway or octavia butler context, so to me it has a different connotation. smth like "family" would be more in line with "gay-as-in-happy" and "FRIENDS"?

ah yes but i was thinking it is interesting how the value of this term is arbitrary, just as "friend", "kinship" is a very vague term that has different connotations depending on how its used and who is using it, like it could have the bio-connotation, but it can just as well have the more social one.

to me the kinship thing is more a space thing. tentacular, lived along lines, not spheres. like, we are familiar with wires and witchcraft. we are reaching for roots and routes. we are contagious nets and networks that critter in and out of clouds.

I'm mostly interested in the so-called "natural" legitimization in terms of how a certain kind of kinship is protected by national state, how it is part of building a national citizenship; but kinship is antagonistic, complementary and it definitely always is ambivalent.

who the hell knows
you’re smart mister shakespeare
to go straight ahead is scary
to go back is embarrassing
so you gave yourself a command
fear has made you come to your senses

insert bombastic story of future utopia, the ocean had its way and very little remains, things are simpler there. boom.”
