JOEL MEYEROWITZ EDITION

Joel Meyerowitz, born 1938 in New York, is, along with William Eggleston and Stephan Shore, one of the most important representatives of the American New Color Photography of the 1960s and 70s.

The images of street scenes, in the U.S. metropoles especially, that he fleetingly captured with his 35mm camera, made him the forerunner of street photography, and his works to icons of contemporary photography.

Exclusively for his retrospective exhibit at the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, Meyerowitz selected three of his major photographs as an Edition of 50 each + 3 a.p.

All prints are beautiful made C-prints on dibond and framed with oiled oak and protected by Mirogard museum glass. Meyerowitz has choosen HSL, one of of the leading labs in Germany (working also for Candida Höfer and Hans-Peter Feldmann), for the production of his Edition.

Meyerowitz has also choosen the vintage printing dimensions of the original photographs. Print size 14 x 9,6 inch in a 20,47 x 15,75 inch frame (Edition 1+2) and print size 14 x 11 inch in a 20,47 x 17,52 inch frame (Edition 3).

JOEL MEYEROWITZ EDITION

Joel Meyerowitz (*1938 in New York) gehört neben William Eggleston und Stephen Shore zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der amerikanischen New Color Photography der 1960/70er Jahre. Insbesondere die Aufnahmen von Straßenszenen seiner Heimatstadt New York City machen ihn zum Vorläufer der street photography und seine Werke zu Ikonen der zeitgenössischen Fotografie.

Exklusiv zur Ausstellung JOEL MEYEROWITZ RETROSPECTIVE im NRW-Forum Düsseldorf werden drei Editionen in einer Auflage von je 50 Exemplaren + 3 A.P. veröffentlich. Die drei von Joel Meyerowitz persönlich ausgesuchten Motive repräsentieren drei der wichtigsten künstlerischen Abschnitte in seinem Fotografenleben.

Bei den exklusiven Abzügen handelt es sich um C-Prints, welche auf Dibond aufgezogen und rückseitig signiert, nummeriert und mit einem Editionsstempel gekennzeichnet wurden. Für den Rahmen wählte Meyerowitz geölte Eiche mit Mirogard Museumsglas. Produziert wurde die Edition beim Fachlabor HSL in Düsseldorf, wo u.a. auch Candida Höfer und Hans-Peter Feldmann fertigen lassen.

Als weitere Besonderheit wurde die Edition in der Größe der original Vintage Prints hergestellt und mit einem weißen Rand versehen. Die Maße lauten: 35,56 x 24,39 cm mit einem Rahmenmaß von 52 x 40 cm (Edition 1+2) bzw. 35,56 x 27,94 cm mit einem Rahmenmaß von 52 x 44,5 cm (Edition 3). Der Preis beträgt € 1.500,- je Edition zzgl. Versand.
